The Norfolk County Agricultural High School Dairy Barn remains a time honored symbol of the past in a fast changing present. NCAHS uses the barn for training future farmers, but it will also be offered to the community at large for activities ranging from 4-H meetings to adult education programs and community activities. The Norfolk County Agricultural High School Dairy Barn received a $5000 award in recognition of its participation in the Partners in Preservation 2009 initiative.

What is the historical significance of this site?
The Dairy Barn, built in 1919, is owned by Norfolk County Agricultural High School. The public high school, one of five nationwide dedicated exclusively to agriculture, was established to train students in modern agriculture. The NCAHS Dairy barn can be used as a gathering place for many of the agricultural organizations in the Norfolk County/Greater Boston area. The barn itself is falling into disrepair, and the community is committed to holding onto the rich agricultural legacy of Norfolk County by restoring this representative structure.

What is the current use of the site?
The NCAHS Dairy Barn and surrounding campus are used for activities and events by regional, county and local organizations ranging from the Junior Olympics to the Walpole County Beekeepers Association.

Why this site needs your continued support:
The Norfolk County Agricultural High School's dairy barn has stood for almost 100 years as a reminder of longstanding farming traditions, and the challenges local farmers face everyday to ensure an agricultural legacy for future generations.
