Thanks!
Submitted by Rob, Boston
I just wanted to commend the folks associated with Norfolk Grange Hall for trying to increase visibility during this initiative. I couldn't make it to the open house, but the schedule of offerings looked very well done. All the best.

Grange Memories
Submitted by Jane, Boston
I grew up in what was then farming country in Pennsylvania. The grange was the center of activities. I was in 4-H through high school, sewing, electric club, flowers, horse club. It was what there was to do, and almost everyone in my township participated, on an active farm or not. Well, the farms made way for developments as the younger generations did not want to carry on and gravitated towards less demanding jobs. But the memories of events at the grange hall linger... polio shots, enormous cover dish suppers, games and dances for the whole family. And then there were the wonderful smells of grain, hay and straw, the colorful seed packets and many interesting implements hanging from the walls. Our local grange hall is gone, but please save this one! I hope they still have community cover dish suppers with games for the kids, something they will never forget!
